What do you do when it’s +2 in the middle of February?
You stage the EPIC BATTLE OF THERMOPYLAE in your back yard.
Here are the Spartans. They are few in number, but they are brave. |
This is the leader of the Spartans, King Leonidas I. He has a wicked six-pack: |
The Spartans armed themselves, and climbed to the top of the mountain pass: |
They formed up into battle positions;![]() |
And then came the Persians, led by Xerxes.![]() |
A great and epic battle ensued. EPIC BATTLE OF THERMOPYLAE |
At the end, blood covered that narrow mountain pass. The Spartans lay broken and dying. The Persians went on to star in the MGM Production of Antony and Cleopatra. |

According to The Nipper, there were lasers and multicoloured fire involved. Red fire, Green fire, and Blue fire. This is a little bit of artistic freedom taken with the historical accuracy of the BATTLE OF THERMOPYLAE, but I think that’s okay.

Please tell me you video taped this all?
Most of it, yes.
But not all of it. There’s a link in that post that goes to a bit of video. There’s more, that I may upload someday.
I hereby would like to nominate you for Most Awesomest Mother EVAR (2011)!
At least it’s not the Most Awesomest Mother of Many Awesome Radical Younglings award. Because the MAMMARYs are really overdone this year, I think.
