I have mentioned this on teh Facebook; I have mentioned it on teh radio/in person, and now this will be the third and final time I will mention this. But I need you to really listen.

You need to….no, really…you NEED TO read this book:
Come, Thou Tortoise by Jessica Grant.

The Captain picked it out for me, and it pleases me Greatly.

Also, for a first novel, it’s pretty effing amazing.

Ok. Just went online to my Library. They have it & it’s out but I’m next in line for it when it’s returned. :)

Penlan – it’s about everything; it’s about growing up and dying. It’s about falling in love and being in love. It’s about incapable mothers and unforgettable fathers. It’s about family, and love, and devotion, and faith, and science. It’s about a mouse, a tortoise, and a man with a bionic arm. Grant’s writing style is intoxicating; she draws you right in to her own thoughts, and you watch what has happened and what is happening with her own eyes. And you laugh out loud. And you cry, a little. And at the end of it, you sit back, and maybe slosh some water out over the back of the bathtub, and you exhale a long and well-earned sigh, and you say: “Well. THAT was fucking amazing.”
