DON’T PANIC

Right. 

How the hell am I not supposed to panic?

I’ve been asked to read !?my own poetry?! at the upcoming poetry reading/opening of Artisan in Regina. I’ve been asked to share the stage with *real* poets who have *books* and *poet cred*. Don’t Panic!!?? 

I have 24 hours to make up my mind. I need a soundtrack. And a towel. 

I mean, whether or not I decide to read, the event is called “Poetry Here & Now”, and will feature readings by Allan Safarik, Anne Campbell, Bob Currie, Judith Krause, Bruce Rice, and Andrew Stubbs. And it’s on Friday, 28th May at 7:30pm at Artesian, which is found at the corner of 13th Avenue and Angus Street in Regina.

You tell me. Don’t Panic?

    I always figured you for a jump-off-the-dock kinda person, not a slowly-wade-through-the-weedy-shallows type. Well, here’s a dock. What’s the worst that could happen? Exactly. You’ve already survived worse than that.

      Well, sure. But jumping off a dock is swimming, and I *know* I know how to swim.

      Or at least float.

      I fully plan to jump off this dock, too. I just can’t guarantee I won’t be panicking when I do so.
