The truth of the matter is

We get our eggs from local folk. Their chickens eat bugs and grain, and they wander whence they wish. The eggs therefore are not uniform size. Some eggs are more blotchy than others, some eggs are smaller, and some are larger.

Every now and then, I hoist an egg out of the package, and I hold the egg in the palm of my hand, and I involuntarily wince. I think, “that poor, poor bird”. Seriously. Today, I grabbed an egg twice the size of normal eggs. It filled my entire palm. I was hoping desperately that the chicken who pushed that egg out was the size of a toddler.

An egg of that size can only mean one thing: the Qu’appelle Valley is witnessing the rise of the Gallus-Gallus 5/13!

(Jeezus, the stuff that stays lodged in my brain…)

i make squee noises when you tell me stuff.
