I wasn’t gonna

But I did.

I want to remind you of something; an invaluable resource for people who like to muck about with political rhetoric: http://howdtheyvote.ca. I wasn’t gonna go and fart around in there, because nothing on God’s green earth is going to change my mind about voting for anybody other than someone who considers gay folks to be filthy, disease-ridden plagues on society (I’m only paraphrasing a very little there. He never actually said “plagues on society”). But I did go and fart around in there. And now I’m angry.

Which isn’t really a big surprise. Honestly, if just 10% of the people who say “I don’t really care about politics” or “I forgot to vote” or “it doesn’t make a difference who I vote for” would get the hell out and do it, they *would* affect change. Anyway, this isn’t going to be the ‘it’s your duty as a Canadian to vote’ speech.

This is the “why do you people keep electing this arsehole?” speech.

My Member of Parliament has voted against a bill that would extend parental leave to people whose children were sick, in trouble with the law, who’d been abducted, who have a spouse or child who committed suicide, or whose family member died while in the commission of a criminal offense.

He also voted against changes to legislation that would protect pensions.

He voted against Bill C-389, which would amend the Human Rights Act to include gender identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination.

He voted against affordable housing provisions. And against environmental best practicses and ensuring international humanitarian rights standards in the oil, gas, and mining industries in developing countries…

…I could go on. But I won’t. Because I’ll just end up getting angrier and angrier.

Oh wait. One more. He voted against the Act which would repeal the long gun registry.

I wish, wish, WISH that y’all would get rid of this guy.

You just made me hate my MP even more. I don’t even look at that stuff and know she is useless. Yay! My MP sucks even more than I thought!

I won’t vote for our MP, for many reasons. However the actual items that he voted on is listed below:

“The House will now proceed to the taking of the deferred recorded division on the motion to concur in the second report of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security concerning the recommendation not to proceed further with Bill C-391, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Firearms Act (repeal of long-gun registry).”

So he was not voting against the repeal of the long gun registry.

I like the web site, I don’t like the MP. But the website is by no means clear what they are actually voting for or against.

Item. Not items. With the item being the long gun registry. Only cause I really questioned what was actually voted on.
