Hierarchy

  1. Do not harm others.
  2. Conquer your anger and hatred.
  3. We live purposeful, meaningful lives.
  4. The practice of patience is essential.
  5. We have the ability and the responsibility to choose whether our actions follow a virtuous path.
  6. With inner strength or mental stability, we can endure all kinds of adversity.
  7. Love, compassion, and concern for others are real sources of happiness.

    I should keep this in mind. Good way to try to live…never easy, though.

    No, it isn’t easy.

    I’m a firm believer in “if it were easy, it wouldn’t be worth doing.” There ought to be challenges in everything that is *meaningful*.

    I am stuck by the similarity to the Zoroastrian encouragement to think good thoughts, speak good words, and do good deeds.

      Yup.

      When I started studying comparative religions, I was also struck by those similarities among many.
